Rules and Regulations

A complete list of MWSC operating rules and regulations will be posted on the bulletin board at the pool for all members to see.

Entrance

  • Members must check in at the guard stand before entry
  • Access to the pool is contingent upon full payment of annual dues
  • Children of members who are rising 7th graders or older may bring guests to the pool unaccompanied by an adult. Guests must also be a rising 7th grader or older. Guests are expected to behave in accordance with pool rules. The member family agrees to serve as the emergency contact for any guest.
  • All guests over the age of 2 are required to pay a fee
  • All swimmers must wear appropriate swimming apparel
  • In order to use the pool a lifeguard must be on duty
  • Glass containers of any kind are not permitted on premises
  • All children 9 and under must be accompanied by a member adult at the pool. Children of member families ages 10 and older may visit the pool unaccompanied by an adult.
  • Persons using the pool do so at their own risk

Use of Pool

  • The main pool may not be used by children 2 years and younger
  • Children using life preservers, “water wings” or other floatation devices are limited to the shallow end of the pool and must stay within arm’s reach of a responsible adult
  • Children must be potty trained to use the main pool
  • Children requiring diapers must only use the baby pool and wear an additional protective rubber/vinyl pant that provides a tight waterproof barrier around the legs as required by the Montgomery County Health Department
  • The baby pool is reserved for children 5 and under
  • All children in the baby pool must be accompanied by an adult or responsible person

Diving Boards

  • Members must be able to swim unassisted in order to use the diving boards
  • Divers must go off the board straight forward and swim to the nearest ladder
  • One diver on the board at any given time
  • Divers must wait on the pool deck until the preceding diver has reached the ladder
  • Only one (1) bounce is permitted on the diving boards

Behavior

  • Running, pushing, dunking, wrestling, or causing undue disturbances in or around the pool is prohibited
  • Diving is only allowed in water deeper than 5 ft.
  • There is a 15-minute rest period every hour for children 15 and younger
  • Inner tubes, rafts, and other floatation devices are not permitted in the pool
  • Swim exercise equipment can only be used in the lap lanes
  • Safe water toys are permitted in the baby pool at lifeguard discretion
  • The use of explicit language or inappropriate behavior may lead to suspension or expulsion from the grounds
  • Failure to abide by any rule may lead to a suspension of up to 24 hours on the authority of pool management
  • Damage to pool property will be charged to the responsible member’s account

Pool Grounds

  • Food and beverage is generally not permitted on the deck area
  • All bicycles should be parked in the spaces provided
  • Trash and refuse must be placed in the appropriate containers
  • The clubhouse must be cleaned after every use

Serious complaints to the Board of Directors should be made in writing or through email.
Suggestions or minor complaints can be made at any time to the pool manager
